Associate Professor and Soprano Canan Özgür, a graduate of Robert College High School in İstanbul where she took piano, singing, ney and musical theater lessons, did her opera master and doctorate studies at İstanbul University National Conservatory. She studied with Prof. Güzin Gürel for her master degree and Prof. Şebnem Ünal for her doctorate degree. She gave concerts in International Summer Academy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria. She performed in the opera production “Elisir D’amore” of the Conservatory Arrigo Boito di Parma in Italy, where she studied within the Erasmus program. She sang as the soloist in Turkey premiere of Karl Jenkins “Stabat Mater” with İstanbul European Choir and Orchestra PrusArt conducted by Cemi’i Can Deliorman. She sang at the Youth Concert at Süreyya Opera House with İstanbul National Opera and Ballet Orchestra conducted by Zdravko Lazarov. She performed as a soloist at Baku Turkish Embassy and Baku National Conservatory, within the scope of ISME 2018 33rd International Music Education Society World Conference. She sang as the soloist in the world premiere of Recep Gül's "The Exchange", conducted by Murat Cem Orhan, as a part of the project chosen by Aix-en-Provence Music Festivaland Academy for "2018 Europe Cultural Heritage Year". The work was also staged at Sismanoglio Megaro Consulate General of Greece. She sang as the soloist in the world premiere of Recep Gül's "Two Songs for the Flow of Time" at Music and Sciences International Symposium of ITU Turkish Music National Conservatory.
Her group A Capella Boğaziçi was nominated as a candidate of "Vocal Ensemble of the Year" at Donizetti Classical Music Awards in 2017, and was awarded as "Inspiring Stars" by Lenovo. It was the first a capella group representing Turkey at Festival Suha of Austria in 2016, Moscow Spring A Capella Festival of Russia where they had 21 concerts, and Tampere Vocal Music Festival of Finland in 2019. They got the 4th place in the competition of Tampere Vocal Music Festival of Finland in 2021. Their music videos were watched over 30 millions at social media. Since 2018, she has given concerts with her guitar-soprano duo groupwhich she founded with the classical guitarist and Associate Professor Güray Alyörük. She released her first single "Çalın Davulları" with the arrangement of Merih Aşkın. She worked with the group Incesaz in their album “Geçsin Günler”. She performed in countries such as Austria, Azerbaijan, Finland, Italy, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Hungary, Russia and Slovenia both as a soloist or a capella. Some of the prestigious concert halls she performed in Turkey are Borusan Music House, Aya İrini Museum, Avusturya Culture Office, Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Senfoni Orkestrası Concert Hall, Aksanat, Zorlu Center PSM.
Besides her musical education, she graduated from Boğaziçi University Chemical Engineering bachelor degree and Boğaziçi University Computational Sciences and Engineering master degree as research assistant. Between 2012 and 2022, she was the board member, media and communication manager and bulletin editor of Choir Culture Association which represents ECA European Choral Association in Turkey. She worked as a lecturer at Biruni University and Istanbul Medipol University Speech and Language Therapy programs and as a singing teacher at Yeditepe University. Since 2019, she has worked as associate professor at İstanbul University State Conservatory Opera, Musical Theater and Turkish Music departments and since 2021 at Nişantaşı University Music department. She knows English, German and Italian.

Im International Sommer Akademie der MDW-Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, Österreich, hatte sie Ausbildung an Gesang, Szene, Vorsingen, Deutsch Diktion, Tanz, Ausbildung an Atem und Körper mit Choerographie, und konzertierte. An Arrigo Boito Konservatorium in Italien, wohin ging sie mit Erasmus Programm, hatte sie Ausbildung an Gesang, Vokal Improvisation, Szene, Italienisch Diktion, Klavier und Kammermusik. Sie nahm teil in der Produktion des gleiches Konservatorium, “L’elisir D’amore”. Sie stand auf der Bühne als Solo in “Stabat Mater” des Karl Jenkins mit Istanbul Europa Chor und Orchester Prusart, mit Dirigent Cemi’i Can Deliorman in der Premiere von der Türkei. Sie sang beim Jugendkonzert im Süreyya Opera House mit dem İstanbul National Opera and Ballet Orchester mit Dirigent Zdravko Lazarov. Sie stand auf der Bühne als Solo an der türkischen Botschaft von Baku und dem Baku National Conservatory im Rahmen der ISME 2018 33rd International Music Education Society World Conference auf. Sie stand auf der Bühne als Solo in der Uraufführung von Recep Güls „The Exchange“ mit Dirigent Murat Cem Orhan im Rahmen des Projekts, das vom Aix-en-Provence Music Festival and Academy für das „Europäische Kulturerbejahr 2018“ ausgewählt wurde. Sowie Musik Ausbildung, sie studierte Chemie Ingenieurwesen an der Universitat Boğaziçi und als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Magisterstudium in dem Programm Computer Wissenschaft und Ingenieurwesen. Sie druckte ab ihre wissenschaftliche Ausführungen in Zeitschriften wie BMC Structural Biology und Konservatoryum. Zwischen 2012 und 2022 war sie ein Vorstandsmitglied und Newsletter-Editor dem Verein Chor Kultur, die die ECA European Choral Association in der Türkei vertritt. Sie arbeitete als Dozenten in der Abteilung Logopadie an der Universitat Biruni und Universitat İstanbul Medipol, und als Gesangslehrerin an der Universität Yeditepe. Seit 2019 ist sie als außerordentliche Professorin an den Abteilungen für Oper, Musiktheater und Türkische Musik des Staatlichen Konservatoriums der Universität Istanbul, und seit 2021 an der Musikabteilung der Nişantaşı Universität tätig. Sie spricht Englisch, Deutsch und Italienisch.
